刘春雷，男，博士，教授，博士生导师。拔尖人才领军学者。回国前曾在英国雷丁大学气象系工作 20 多年，目前仍是雷丁大学客座研究员。先后在中国科学技术大学、英国曼切斯特大学获学士、博士学位。主要从事全球气候变化机理方面的研究，包括地球观测、大气辐射、台风过程、地球-大气系统能量平衡变化和水循环变化方面的研究。估算的大气层顶各辐射通量和地球表面净能量通量，被国际学术界广泛使用。在 SCI杂志发表的文章已被引用了1000 多次。有把卫星观测资料，大气和海洋再分析资料，以及气候模拟资料结合在一起的丰富经验。
